As with last year, I won a runner up prize in the Pendraken Painting Competition. Unlike last year, the honours went to the shenanigans going on in my World War One desert war blog. So, no prizes for the Napoleonics this year. Not to worry, the competition was hotly contested and there was lots of great painting on display. I managed to slip my entries in at the last moment with some last-minute late-night photography. My Austrian staff officers that weren’t finished in time for last year’s competition made it in this time. And a French voltigeur that I painted specially accompanied my ragtag line infantry recruits. All my entries got some marks from the judges as they all ended up in the People’s Choice Award (competing against one another) where they got a healthy – and gratefully received – number of votes from forum members.
